Dietetic therapy is one of the pillars that is used to control Diabetic Mellitus. The Compliance in implementing a Diabetic Mellitus diet is becoming the hope for the hospital medical team. The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge of patients with dietary compliance in patients with diabetic mellitus type 2 in General Care Unit of the Central Army Gatot Soebroto Hospital, Jakarta. This research uses descriptive method. There are 50 respondents and are taken completely. The knowledge level is measured from the definition to the variety of diets and the level of diet compliance is measured from the behavior and attitude of the patients upon their diet. The results of the research has shown 18 patients having a low in knowledge level, 7 patients (38,9%) are compliance and 32 patients having a good knowledge level, 26 patients (81,3%) which are compliance. The result of Chi Square has shown that there is a significant value between the level of patients knowledge with the diet compliance (χ2=9.212, P<0.05). Therefore, it can be concluded that the efforts to increase the level of patient knowledge in diabetic dietary will increases the diet compliance for diabetic mellitus type 2 patients in General Care Unit of The Central Army Gatot Soebroto Hospital, Jakarta.
